Local bush walkers climb Mount Kosciusko
Forty two members and friends of the West Gippsland Bushwalking Club recently spent five days walking in the Snowy Mountains. Based at Jindabyne a range of day walks were organised to cater for the varying interests and capability of club members.
Walk leader Julie Williams organised a range of walks to show off the amazing alpine scenery and test the stamina of club walkers. And in keeping with all trips away Julie was able to find the best coffee shops in the area to unwind after each day’s walk.
The highlight of the week was the opportunity for participants to walk to the top of Mount Kosciusko. While the day was cool the sky was clear so walkers could appreciate the extensive views. Wild flowers were in bloom and some snow drifts still present.
